08/08/2016 - Final Email :(

Dear family and friends and missionaries!

This has one heck of a ride! I have loved every minute of my mission!
I have seen so many miracles and blessings! I know this work we do is inspired! And is what the lords wants and needs us to do! Oh and we got Facebook to further the lords work! It has been fun and interesting! I'm excited to see what comes with it!

I sure am going to miss the GKLM! It is and forever will be my home! I know this is Christ's one true church restored to the earth! I know that Jesus Christ is our savior and it is through Him we are able to overcome weaknesses and are able to overcome the effects of sin! I know that as we humble ourselves and as we turn towards him he is there and will help us!

My mission means so much to me and is a very spiritual experience and is one of the best ways we are able to as young men and women become what Christ needs us to become. I know that the lord knows us individually and knows what is best for each of us!

I want to thank y'all for all of the support hall have given me and for the guidance yall have given to me in my life! I hope y'all have enjoyed the Updates! And I will be seeing y'all on Wednesday! Have a great two days!

Love,

Dear family and friends,

This week was a very eventful week! We did a lot of biking! Wow! We got a new companion on Tuesday! So we are in a trio! For two weeks! So one week is over! But we did a lot of service this week! We got acquainted! Then we went out biking a little.

Wednesday was a very eventful day out on the bikes! We were biking and trying people and talking to everyone! Then it came time for brother lowrie to come get us for dinner so we met us somewhere and we locked up our bikes and then we had dinner with the Lowries and it started to dump cats and animals! As brother lowrie said! Haha it Dumped super hard! Then we came home tried Dustin he is so funny! Then we took some cool videos of the down pour!

Thursday we we did some awesome service at the audobon! I love that place! Then we biked to town and talked with people, and set up some appointments! Then we busted it to the clevelands! I love them! They fed us dinner! They are a super awesome couple! Then we did 12 week!
And tried Jacob but he wasn't home. So we went out biking for the remainder of the night.

Friday we had district meeting! The zone leaders picked us up and took us there! So we could save miles! :) that was my last district meeting of my mission! :( it was a super sad day! Then we ate lunch with the Roarks then biked around and it dumped some serious hard rain! Wow! We got drenched! Wow! It sucked! But was a lot of fun! Then elder sherwoods bike broke! :( so we walked about 2 miles home.... Then we drove back out and walked around for the remainder of the night.

Saturday we ate at Golden Corral with the Davis's! Then we went and did service at the Salvation Army again! :) I love it there! Then we went and helped move in a new couple from Utah.

Sunday was a great day full of biking again! But first we had Church!
Great talks given! The cooleys fed us dinner! And we went out biking and we talked to this super cool cop! He was so cool! He told us if we had any problems to give him a call! Then we had a good lesson with this investigator! She is super awesome! She really has the desire to learn for herself! Then we ended the night with Dustin! :) I love our meetings with Dustin! He is so funny!

This week I really learned how Humble we must be in order to continually feel the spirit! And how much patience we need in order to get a long with our day to day dealings with those around us!

I have really enjoyed my time I have been the lords missionary! And e chance I've had to see the change this gospel makes to those we teach!
I can't believe these last two years have gone by this fast! It's super crazy! I would like to thank y'all for all of the support y'all have given me!

I have come to know for myself that the atonement of Christ makes all things possible as long as we allow it to change us into who God needs us to be! I know this is Christ's 1 and only true Church on the earth!
And that the Book of Mormon is Gods word and that as we live our lives off the principled taught in the bible and the Book of Mormon we will be able to receive all of the happiness Heavenly Father has to offer us! I know families can be together forever and that we have Gods authority restored to the earth!

I love y'all and miss y'all! I'll see y'all next week!

Dear family and friends,

This week was a very crazy week! Super eventful! We did a lot of biking! And taught a couple of people! We have been working super hard! It has been a really cool experience while reflecting back on these past 2 years and thinking about all of the amazing lessons ive learned and all of the amazing people that I've been able to meet! My mission has truly been the best experience of my life!

This week was super hot! Heat index of 110's every day, so yeah biking was fun! And is going to be fun this next week! This week I have really learned the importance of patience and diligence. Because if we do those two things we will have his spirit to be with us.

I hope y'all had a great week! And have a great upcoming week!

I know this church is Christ's one true church restored to the Earth!
And I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that through Christ we can accomplish all things through his atonement, his atonement is what makes it possible for us to do all things. Life does get hard we all mess up and make mistakes, we will all fail now and again, but because of what Christ has done for us we can achieve greatness! We are not required to be perfect but we are required to make immediate progress while on this earth! The power of going to church weekly and reading and praying daily are the only way we can continually receive spiritual nourishment!

The importance of family is amazing! We need to continually strengthen them and each other and to keep Gods image of family our priority and to follow Gods commandments!

I love y'all! Mis y'all! Keep fighting the good fight! Don't ever give up even though it gets hard Christ is always there to strengthen you where and when needed.

This week was a cray one we did a lot of biking and it did a lot of raining! Monday we had a great time playing ball in Evansville then we went to the clevelands for dinner then biked the rest of the day.

Tuesday we had a new missionary training I leaned so much! It was amazing! Learned so much! Then we did service at the Salvation Army!
Then had dinner at brother wrotens!

Wednesday we had weekly planning and we did aloft of biking! In the rain with the thunder and lightning! It was super cool!

Thursday was zone meeting! It was pretty dang good! Leaned a lot of giving memebers prepared book of Mormons! Then that night we went on an exchange with the zone leaders! I was with elder peck In Henderson!
So Saturday elder peck and I did a lot of biking and we talked to a lot of people! Taught a guy that wasn't very interested.

Sunday was a great time at church! Learned a lot, about the atonement and the savior  grace! Then we went out had all of our appointments fall through but was able to reach this one guy very briefly on the street.

This week I really leaned the importance of enduring to the end.
Because if we just wait for it to end or are just slugging though life you're going to be miserable! We must be actively engaged! And working hard! That is the only way we will be able to see success!

I love y'all! And miss yaLl hope y'all have a great week! This week was super hot and humid! And stormy!

I love being a missionary! We had a lot of bad storms take out houses and cars with trees! We had a great lesson with this guy!
He is super load and gets up in our faces! He is so funny! And he's ripped! So it was interesting! And he was trunk and yelling whole time! He is so awesome! We also taught this awesome couple! Dear family and friends!

This week has been a very challenging week! As we went out and got after it! We didn't have very many miles as we started out the week so we had to bike from he house 2 days in s row! But we were able to find a lot of people, that accepted a return appointment. We also had a lesson in a members home! That is probably the best way to have lessons! I love my companion elder Sherwood! He is an awesome missionary! We sure have a lot of fun together! And we work super hard! I also had the chance to go on an exchange with elder field he is from Washington state, he is an awesome missionary! I'm so blessed as a leader to have great missionaries in my district!

We have had a lot of amazing people that we met! I have seen the blessings come as we are obedient and diligent in our work! I love this work as missionaries that we get to do! I know this church is the only true and restored church on the earth! This week I really come to understand the importance of bearing your simple testimony as we talk to people! I know that as we testify of what we know to be true that the people we talk to will be able to feel the Spirit!

I hope y'all had a great week! And are continually strengthening your own testimonies in this one restored gospel on earth!

I can't believe I've been out for 22 months! It doesn't feel like it's been that long! It still feels like I just started this journey! I'm excited to see what this last month I have to serve the lord brings!
I'm excited for all of the miracles I will get to see and for all of the lives I will be able to experience a change!

We were also able to teach a guy where his wife is a member and he isn't but he's been investigating the church for several years now but he says that he is on the verge of being ready for baptism! So I hope he will be able to gain his own testimony of this 1 true gospel!

I love y'all! And miss y'all! I hope y'all had a great week!

Keep on the strait and narrow path and reading the Book of Mormon and praying and attending your church meetings!

Love,

Elder Durfee

Dear family and friends,

This week was a killer week, it was amazing!

Monday was great we had a great preparation day and talked to a few awesome people!
Tuesday we this amazing lesson with his couple we found on Monday! And the husband really wants to find a family centered church! So we are excited to see where they go! And he said he just couldn't wait to read from the Book of Mormon! Then we had brother coots come out with us and we had a super cool lesson with this lady and we were able to set a baptismal date with her! We also were able to have another lesson with this other lady we are now teaching!

Wednesday we did weekly planing! Then we went out searching for those God has been preparing! We were able to have a super great lesson with our most progressing baptismal date! She is super awesome! She was excited to come to church! Then we had dinner at brother wrotens! He is so funny! I love that guy! He made us his specialty pizza! I just love his pizza! Then we ended the night visiting with Dustin.

Thursday we had a lot of fun at service at the audobon state park!
Then we had a great visit with a less active! Then we had dinner at the coolies! They are awesome! They took us to a Mexican restaurant!

Friday: we had zone conference! And this was my last zone conference of my mission! It was super sad! But we received great training from president brough, the assistants to the president and the zone leaders! It was super awesome! Then we had the relief society from our branch they made us lunch! Then I had to get up and bare my testimony because I am going to be going home soon.... So that was super awesome getting to hear the others bear theirs but it was also a very sad moment seeing them up there realizing that we are all coming to the end! Then when we got back we went biking! And we found this super awesome couple! They said that right before we had gotten to talk to them they had just said they needed to get back to church! And right before we talked to them I was trying to figure out which way to go and I was following the spirit and not really knowing where I was going for the moment I caught them in the corner of my eye and I got the feeling I needed to talk to them! So I did the president brough move the hook swoop and dive on my bike! And talked to them! And they were so glad that we stopped and talked to them! It was amazing to see the spirit lead us to them! Then we contacted this lady and she goes I'm wicken! And she proceeded to tell us all about it!

Saturday we had a good day, we spent most of it biking! We had a great lesson with a lady we had contacted on the street and we set a baptismal date with her! Then I felt like we needed to try this one lady and she opened the door and was so glad we came by and we set up an appointment for us to come and teach her! I'm excited for that lesson! Then we spent the rest of the day biking trying to find people to teach!

Sunday was great! We had one of our baptismal dates come to church!
And she loved it! She was introducing herself to the whole branch! It was amazing! Then we had a great lesson with her at the park with one of our members! He is an awesome guy! Then contacted some cool people and had one lesson with them, then we ended the night visiting with Dustin! Then we came home and I gathered the districts numbers! Had a good 21st birthday!

This week was a super great week! I really learned the importance of following the spirit and relying on God to help us achieve what we need to achieve! I love is gospel I know this church is the only true church restored to earth today with Gods authority to perform baptisms!

This week as a great week! It was super hot got up to 110! Monday was a great day! We played ball, and we had dinner with a member and elder singleton packed to get transferred to new Albany! My last area!
Tuesday we got up at 5 and we drove to Louisville for transfers! I got trained by president brough on how to train a new missionary! So I am now training a missionary how to be a missionary! This is going to be a very fun transfer! So to start the week off he lost his wallet somewhere so he can't buy any food. But this is going to be a fun transfer! His name is elder Sherwood! From Arizona! He is related to Matt Sherwood that won he team roping a couple years ago at the NFR!
We also had coordination that night.
Wednesday we weekly planned! Set up his iPad and we ended the night teaching Dustin! Haha he doesn't know what to think about Dustin yet!

Thursday we did service at the audobon! He loves the service feeding birds! Then we had a couple of great lessons! And ended the night eating dinner with brother wroten! He is so funny!

Friday we had a great district meeting, I trained on setting goals!
And seeking the spririt! Then I went on an exchange with elder Ashcraft! We biked a lot! And we set up a lot of appointments! It was a super effective exchange! Saturday we finished exchange then we came back and went walking!

Sunday was great! We had three investigators come to church! The ward welcomed them so that was awesome! We saw a lot of success this week!
This last transfer is going to be the best one! Elder Sherwood and me are going  to kill it!

This week was filled so lots of biking and finding new people, to teach because we dropped all of our investigators last week! We did a lot of biking! And had fun at the audobon for service! Friday we had zone meeting! That was amazing! And Saturday was transfer calls! We were minding our own business reading our scriptures when he phone rings so we look at it and it is president brough! So we were like oh boy! So elder singleton answered it and president brough asked to talk to me and he asked me to finish my mission as the district leader here in Henderson and to train a new missionary! So that is going to be a lot of fun! I'm going to be super busy is next six weeks! I'm excited for the new experience and for the great growing opportunity! But me and elder singleton had a lot of fun serving together! I'm going to miss him! A crazy story for the week! We were driving down the road and a piece to our bike rack fell off! And singletons bike fell and started to get sucked up under the car! Luckily we had a pull off near by! Haha it was crazy! Well I love and miss y'all! We are playing basketball today!
