08/08/2016 - Final Email :(

Dear family and friends and missionaries!

This has one heck of a ride! I have loved every minute of my mission!
I have seen so many miracles and blessings! I know this work we do is inspired! And is what the lords wants and needs us to do! Oh and we got Facebook to further the lords work! It has been fun and interesting! I'm excited to see what comes with it!

I sure am going to miss the GKLM! It is and forever will be my home! I know this is Christ's one true church restored to the earth! I know that Jesus Christ is our savior and it is through Him we are able to overcome weaknesses and are able to overcome the effects of sin! I know that as we humble ourselves and as we turn towards him he is there and will help us!

My mission means so much to me and is a very spiritual experience and is one of the best ways we are able to as young men and women become what Christ needs us to become. I know that the lord knows us individually and knows what is best for each of us!

I want to thank y'all for all of the support hall have given me and for the guidance yall have given to me in my life! I hope y'all have enjoyed the Updates! And I will be seeing y'all on Wednesday! Have a great two days!

Love,
Elder Durfee

Dear family and friends,

This week was a very eventful week! We did a lot of biking! Wow! We got a new companion on Tuesday! So we are in a trio! For two weeks! So one week is over! But we did a lot of service this week! We got acquainted! Then we went out biking a little.

Wednesday was a very eventful day out on the bikes! We were biking and trying people and talking to everyone! Then it came time for brother lowrie to come get us for dinner so we met us somewhere and we locked up our bikes and then we had dinner with the Lowries and it started to dump cats and animals! As brother lowrie said! Haha it Dumped super hard! Then we came home tried Dustin he is so funny! Then we took some cool videos of the down pour!

Thursday we we did some awesome service at the audobon! I love that place! Then we biked to town and talked with people, and set up some appointments! Then we busted it to the clevelands! I love them! They fed us dinner! They are a super awesome couple! Then we did 12 week!
And tried Jacob but he wasn't home. So we went out biking for the remainder of the night.

Friday we had district meeting! The zone leaders picked us up and took us there! So we could save miles! :) that was my last district meeting of my mission! :( it was a super sad day! Then we ate lunch with the Roarks then biked around and it dumped some serious hard rain! Wow! We got drenched! Wow! It sucked! But was a lot of fun! Then elder sherwoods bike broke! :( so we walked about 2 miles home.... Then we drove back out and walked around for the remainder of the night.

Saturday we ate at Golden Corral with the Davis's! Then we went and did service at the Salvation Army again! :) I love it there! Then we went and helped move in a new couple from Utah.

Sunday was a great day full of biking again! But first we had Church!
Great talks given! The cooleys fed us dinner! And we went out biking and we talked to this super cool cop! He was so cool! He told us if we had any problems to give him a call! Then we had a good lesson with this investigator! She is super awesome! She really has the desire to learn for herself! Then we ended the night with Dustin! :) I love our meetings with Dustin! He is so funny!

This week I really learned how Humble we must be in order to continually feel the spirit! And how much patience we need in order to get a long with our day to day dealings with those around us!

I have really enjoyed my time I have been the lords missionary! And e chance I've had to see the change this gospel makes to those we teach!
I can't believe these last two years have gone by this fast! It's super crazy! I would like to thank y'all for all of the support y'all have given me!

I have come to know for myself that the atonement of Christ makes all things possible as long as we allow it to change us into who God needs us to be! I know this is Christ's 1 and only true Church on the earth!
And that the Book of Mormon is Gods word and that as we live our lives off the principled taught in the bible and the Book of Mormon we will be able to receive all of the happiness Heavenly Father has to offer us! I know families can be together forever and that we have Gods authority restored to the earth!

I love y'all and miss y'all! I'll see y'all next week!

Dear family and friends,

This week was a very crazy week! Super eventful! We did a lot of biking! And taught a couple of people! We have been working super hard! It has been a really cool experience while reflecting back on these past 2 years and thinking about all of the amazing lessons ive learned and all of the amazing people that I've been able to meet! My mission has truly been the best experience of my life!

This week was super hot! Heat index of 110's every day, so yeah biking was fun! And is going to be fun this next week! This week I have really learned the importance of patience and diligence. Because if we do those two things we will have his spirit to be with us.

I hope y'all had a great week! And have a great upcoming week!

I know this church is Christ's one true church restored to the Earth!
And I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that through Christ we can accomplish all things through his atonement, his atonement is what makes it possible for us to do all things. Life does get hard we all mess up and make mistakes, we will all fail now and again, but because of what Christ has done for us we can achieve greatness! We are not required to be perfect but we are required to make immediate progress while on this earth! The power of going to church weekly and reading and praying daily are the only way we can continually receive spiritual nourishment!

The importance of family is amazing! We need to continually strengthen them and each other and to keep Gods image of family our priority and to follow Gods commandments!

I love y'all! Mis y'all! Keep fighting the good fight! Don't ever give up even though it gets hard Christ is always there to strengthen you where and when needed.

This week was a cray one we did a lot of biking and it did a lot of raining! Monday we had a great time playing ball in Evansville then we went to the clevelands for dinner then biked the rest of the day.

Tuesday we had a new missionary training I leaned so much! It was amazing! Learned so much! Then we did service at the Salvation Army!
Then had dinner at brother wrotens!

Wednesday we had weekly planning and we did aloft of biking! In the rain with the thunder and lightning! It was super cool!

Thursday was zone meeting! It was pretty dang good! Leaned a lot of giving memebers prepared book of Mormons! Then that night we went on an exchange with the zone leaders! I was with elder peck In Henderson!
So Saturday elder peck and I did a lot of biking and we talked to a lot of people! Taught a guy that wasn't very interested.

Sunday was a great time at church! Learned a lot, about the atonement and the savior  grace! Then we went out had all of our appointments fall through but was able to reach this one guy very briefly on the street.

This week I really leaned the importance of enduring to the end.
Because if we just wait for it to end or are just slugging though life you're going to be miserable! We must be actively engaged! And working hard! That is the only way we will be able to see success!

I love y'all! And miss yaLl hope y'all have a great week! This week was super hot and humid! And stormy!
