April 18, 2016

This week was a fairly good week! Can't really complain.
So we did a lot of finding people, also had a great lesson with one of our investigators at the church en afterwards gave her a church tour.
Had a couple of awesome lessons with some less active members. Then on Friday we had a great district meeting, I trained on the importance of using members in missionary work! Because from the missionary stand point when the members do their part and invite their friends to listen to the message we share they are able to progress a lot faster.

Saturday was an amazing day! We got up and tried a few people then we had a member that was willing take us to new Albany for a baptism of a girl I had taught before I got transferred, it was an amazing experience go see her make this covenant with our Heavenly Father. She was truly prepared! She is the most amazing person! I'm glad I had the pleasure of helping her into her journey. I also had the privilege of giving the talk at her baptism, the spirit was so strong here!

Sunday was a good day as well, we got in with some less actives and also did a lot of biking and talked to a lot of people! Sunday's meeting was focused on the importance of families and how Saran is doing everything he can to destroy them! But I know that as we follow the council we received in general conference by doing the small things and being humble and willing to make things work that we can defeat Satan and have a happy family!

I love this gospel, I love this work as a missionary! And I know that this is the one and only true church on the earth and that e prophet Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of God on the earth today, and that Joseph Smith was the prophet that restored the fullness of the gospel on e earth, I know the Book of Mormon is true and that he power of the atonement is real! It can change and mold us into who and what our Heavenly Father wants and needs us to be. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

I hope you all had a great week and I miss and love y'all!

Love,
 Elder Durfee

New Address:
1987 Barrett court Henderson Kentucky apartment 128 zip code 42420

This week was super eventful! It was a new experience!
Monday was a sad day as I packed to leave, we played settlers of catan, and also said good bye to some people.

Tuesday we met brother neidiffer and he took me to Louisville for transfers! We unloaded and loaded up then drove three hours and traveled to another time zone! So I'm in e central time zone! Then we got settled in and found some super cool people! It feels so mUh like beattyville! Another branch!

Wednesday: we did a lot of finding all day! And had a couple of on spot lessons! Met a lot of cool people!

Thursday: we had a couple of good lessons and did weekly planning!
Then we went and did service at Audubon and wow that was a lot of fun!
We got to hold hissing cockroaches! And a gecko, and a couple of snakes, frogs, toads, turtles, then came the fun part! We got to feed the birds! I got to have a red tailed hawk perch on my arm and eat a mouse out of my hand! Fed a barbed owl that was alittle bit wild kept diving at our heads! Then fed a eastern screech owl! Those were a lot of fun! Then we came back home changed then continued finding, ended the night doing coorelation at the church, the building is huge compared to beatyvilles though!

Friday: the moment of truth came! I had to give my first training! It was really good! Zone leaders picked us up elder peck, and elder Hansen, this is going to be a great transfer! It's an all elder district. I trained on he importance of having charity in all we do! I shared I Corinthians 13:1-3. It is very powerful to know what we can accomplish with real intent with charity! Then I went on an exchanges with elder peck whom I went on exchanges with back at the beginning of both of our missions! It was a very successful exchange! I went to Newburgh and we had a lot of fun!

Saturday: we continued finding because as it says in preach my gospel, pg 157 under talk with everyone it says" nothing happens in missionary work until you find someone to teach". We then had a member from Henderson bring the other elders back up to Evansville and we re exchanged! Then we continued finding people,

Sunday: we woke up and had great studies! Then we had a great meetings! It was awesome! I love this branch! Had a fast and testimony meeting for Easter! Then we went out and about finding people. Then I had the experience of collecting numbers!

Well this week was a huge change! And I, loving the changes I've gone through! Well I love you all and keep reading your scriputres and praying daily as we do the simple things like going to church as well we will be blessed as we do as our Heavenly Father promised he would!

Love you all

Sincerely elder Durfee

Love y'all have a great week!

March 21, 2016

Hello! So this week was a very eventful week! Wow! This week flew by!
And also another transfer ended with it as well!....
But anyways this week we talked to a lot of people! We talked to 228 of our heavenly fathers children! We were super busy! Did a lot of biking! I sure love biking!

Well Monday: we played dodge ball again at 6 in the morning, then had a great preparation day! Brother nidiffer took us out to eat! He took us to White Castle.... Not very good but hey! It was all good because former elder white returned and was visiting. Then we ended the night with an awesome member lesson with the sorensens! The sorensens are awesome! She is also a great cook!

Tuesday: we went out in the morning tried a few people, no luck but then we went out with brother Kempton and had a great lesson with one of our investigators with him! He is a super awesome member. Even though the investigator started the lesson out with saying I just want to refresh what I've learned at my old church... Um we can't do that!
Then we did some more biking then we went with Dale to chick fillet for dinner! Then had Dale drop us at our investigators house! And had a solid lesson with her and her boy friend! She is so awesome! She is the most solid investigator I've ever had! Earlier today we met with this super funny chick, where she says that's dope, for pretty much everything! She's so funny!

Wednesday: we had a great district meeting! Then a great district lunch! Had a lot of fun! We went to five guys! Then we went and taught one of our other investigators! She has bed bugs super bad! But we made huge measures to make sure we didn't get those suckers! Then we went to a bible study I was invited to go to by diedra it was super weird! Not much spirit and just bagged on present day Jerusalem... But then we had to leave half way through to go to dinner provided at the girls activity group it was super good! Lasagna! Then they role played the story of Joseph smith it was awesome! Oh also our investigator and her boyfriend who is a member drove by and honked! Lifted our spirits!

Thursday: we weekly planned! Was super amazing! And super spiritual!
Had a chick say oh we are Christians thanks! Oh so you don't want to take a card with a website to a video of Christ? She replies no thanks we are Christian. What!? Then had the car elders take us to an appointment because the member we were going to go out with his car fell apart! So then we ended the night with brother Lucas eating dinner at Texas Roadhouse! Was super good! I love Texas road house!

Friday: we went to try a girl she gave us a false address... So we biked around then came home and ate lunch, then we went out biking all day! Talked to a lot of people today! I had a very personal spiritual experience as I had a connection with one of our less active members we are working with! I know I was sent to new Albany to find her! Then went to the moreys for dinner I love the moreys, super awesome couple!
Then we went to Teresa nalls she is awesome! And after hers we contacted a super cool girl! Then biked home, on way home we had a chick pull up in a car yelled hey are y'all the Mormons!? We go yeah!
She goes can we talk... So she pulled up to a parking lot then we sat there and talked and she wanted help finding her son that could be in a bad place and so she is describing him to us and it was a guy I had talked to earlier today! And so she asked us to go and knock a door to try and find him... But we needed to get home! So we told her that and ended our meeting with her with a prayer. The. Came home. Had one chick her excuse to not talk was she had to find her boy friend. It's amazing of how many crazy excuses people give us! And none of the excuses people make up are even good! Doesn't even matter the excuse it all is just an excuse! Oh had to walk dales dogs today because he went to Nashville with former elder white.

Saturday: well with Dale being gone we had to walk his dogs for him because he asked us too. Then after getting to dales I see on our phone I missed a call from the mission home... Oh did I mention transfers ended this week! And well transfer calls were today, Saturday.... So I called him back, and well um he goes hey elder Durfee I felt impressed to transfer you... I was like what!? Really?
He goes yeah, and I also felt impressed to make you the district leader. So I will be giving trainings weekly and also have a lot,of meetings! I will also be giving baptismal interviews... So yeah...
It's going to be exciting! I'm excited for the great opportunity I have to receive this responsibility! But after talking to him we went and met with Rita had a great lesson then met with Blanche! And John!
Man I'm going to miss this area! And the people here! We then went to do service at Salvation Army, they didn't have a whole lot for us to do. So we did what they asked us to then we left and elder benard and me got ready to go to Felipe's baptism, he is a Spanish investigator and his wife is a member in the new Albany ward, so it was awesome to see him baptized and to progress to making it into the temple! Then we came home and then went to sister woolfords the less active I had the amazing experience with and she wanted us to give her a blessing to help her with some personal problems she is going through. I had the honor to give her the blessing! She is amazing! Then we had dinner at dales, after elder Follett our district leader right now gave me and elder matelau training for what to do as a district leader because elder matelau will be the district leader in new Albany. Elder Follett is going home and I'm getting transferred to Henderson Kentucky. But after dinner at dales brother kasteler picked us up then picked up our solid investigator up and had a lesson at his house! She is so solid!
We taught her the Ten Commandments and she practically taught us the Ten Commandments! She has been prepared!

Sunday: we had a great church service! Was amazing! Our investigator came! And she loves church! We then got picked up by brother Sorensen for dinner with his brother in law, that family is amazing! Had a lot of fun! Then we went to an investigators I said good bye, then we went home changed and then went to the church for a church tour and only our solid investigator showed up one member family showed up but told them to go home so yeah.. So instead be had a vocabulary introduction with our investigator so she could get familiar with the vocabulary we use! She is so awesome! Then we went and I said bye to Dale and Karen!
I'm going to miss those two! :( also saw will white former elder white! I then went tried the less active we were trying to catch and set up an appointment with her for tomorrow! Then we came home and ate cake for elder Bernard's birthday! Today was amazing! Our investigator is amazing and the less active is awesome!

Well this week was amazing! And I've truly learned the importance of working hard and being exactly obedient! I know that as we do the very simplest of the commandments we will blessed and we will be able to recognize the love our Heavenly Father has for us! I love this gospel and I know it is true and it is the only true church on this earth and that Christ stands at the head of it.

Love,
 Elder Durfee
