so this week was super full! As all of you know I got
transferred! So Monday: I went and said good bye to everyone including Autumn
the Girl that was getting baptized on the 18th. and we had a good chat with her
and I felt inspired to ask her then who she wanted to baptize her and she said
You Elder Durfee. So then we went and had a great lesson with her and the
Carter's a Family Home Evening. and I set up stuff for the travel back to
Beattyville with Carter's. Then I went and told Willie and Cynthia good bye the
Coolest couple that lives in the Beattyville area!
Tuesday: we had Transfers!! I am now in Carrollton with
Elder Benham he served in Beattyville, well Trained in Beattyville so his first
area he was there a year and a half ago and Mathew the man we baptized last
Saturday he was the one who found him!!! So when I told him that we would be
going back to Beattyville for Autumns Baptism he was stoked to go back!
Wednesday: We Weekly Planned to I could get acquainted with
names of people we are teaching here. and saw some Less actives. then we had
Mutual we helped pick up sticks in an elderly ladies yard. with the youth. I
called President Brough and he told me to find a ride to meet the carters
in Lexington for Autumns BAptism he said I had to be there. AP's
Assistants to the President said they would give us a ride home from Lexington.
Thursday: We had district meeting and This new district is
super cool!! I love them! We ate at sonic afterwards and there in Crestwood the
owner is Mormon so we get a missionary discount! Then we went and saw some of
their investigators and then we ate dinner. then we went and saw another one of
their investigators. WE set up a ride to get to Lexington
Friday: We Saw more less actives.
Saturday: We got up and their recent convert here gave us a
ride to Lexington and we met the CArters and we got to Beattyville at 1:30 and
Then we had the Baptism. It was a very spiritual day!!! I'm so proud
of Autumn and her decision on Following Jesus Christ's example. I Got the
opportunity to Baptize her I'm pretty sure I was more nervous than she was for
her baptism. But I only had to dunk her once! and Then we had a good
rest of the service. when we showed up and the members of Beattyville saw me
there they were all surprised and happy to see me a gain!! I love that area!!
I'm excited to go back and visit after my mission! Then we met the Assitants in
Lexington and went home. it was an all day deal! Carrollton is by Louisville.
Sunday: we had a good service this morning this is a branch
as well. and This one doesn't have building!! so it is in a storefront it was
different and I had a talk my first sunday just an introduction and I also
blessed the Water for sacrament! haha I love branches we also taught young
mens!
I know that God is there for us always I prayed super hard
for me to be able to be a part of Autumns baptism and he allowed it to happen
so even if it looks like things aren't going to align keep pushing forward and
It will always come out the way it should if it is God's will!
Love,
Elder Durfee!
P.S. I love my mission!!!
